| Monthly Newsletter: Epicenter When I think about God working I think about all the things that are happening where he is working. People are excited, people are working together, people are willing to do whatever it takes to for God’s work to take shape. But before all of that can take place there is a major component that has to have taken place. Those people at the epicenter of God’s movement had to be listening and watching for the opportunities that God brings into their pathways, and then they have to be willing to take hold of the opportunities that God has placed before them. Many times in ministry have I found myself at the epicenter of God’s movement, (and many times have I found myself wishing that someone else would have taken on the workload). When all is said and done, I find that I have been blessed to be a part of what God has given for me to do. Throughout my years in ministry I have had many opportunities to serve: in my own church, in my own town, and even in other countries. Through all of this I have learned that I need to be watching and waiting for God to give me a new task to complete for his Kingdom. So I ask you the question, what are you passing up that God has continued to put in your pathway? Are you watching, and willing to do his will no matter what the cost? | Just a Moment While the count down to change is on progress I though I would change the topic just a little bit and put up my latest monthly newsletter article. Harvest Times Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so most people don’t recognize them. -Ann Landers “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.” Matt. 9:37 The fall has been a favorite season for me for many different reasons but I can narrow it down to two specifically. First, I enjoy hunting. Being out in the woods listening to the birds as they call to one another, being able to sit and be in utter silence for long periods of time listening and waiting for either a deer or for what God has to tell me while I am out there. Second, fall is the harvest time and after watching all the farmers grow their crops throughout the summer from a seed to a full grown plant that someone will consume for nourishment. This is really cool to me. The idea that God has given us the gift to be able to produce food and the ability to nourish not only ourselves but many others with these very same products is beyond belief. Being a farmer is hard work, having to get up early, working very long days all year round for usually very little. As Christians though we are all farmers if you think about it, it is just a matter of whether we are good farmers or not. God has given us the opportunity to plant seeds of faith in and through other people with our words and actions. Many times though the unfortunate find is that there are few too many planters or few too many harvesters. Are you one who is actively planting/harvesting? If not, why? | Wow, I can't believe the summer is just about over! This may sound weird to most of you, but I will be ready for school to start, the semester to be over and have a degree under my belt finally. This has been an extremely stressful summer for me and I am ready to get it over with. I would ask right now that who ever read this thing that you pray for me and my family as we look to make some decisions here over the next few months if not sooner. Your friend, Guinny | | |
